WCT and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Advance Women's Leadership in the IT Space

TORONTO; December 12, 2019– Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) announced that Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has become a national sponsor of the organization to help further WCT’s work in supporting the advancement of women as leaders in Canada’s digital economy.

Since 1991, WCT has been working to promote diversity and develop strategies to advance women, advocating for inclusion and equality at all levels in information, communications, media and technology companies.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is the global edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-service company. HPE helps organizations record, analyze, and make data-based decisions to improve business outcomes.

“Digital economy has opened new windows of opportunity for companies to spur goals of gender equality. The digital revolution, characterized by artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and edge technology, helps redesign existing programs to foster women’s economic and digital inclusion,” says Paula Hodgins, President of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Canada. “At HPE we are committed to providing an inclusive work environment that benefits all of our employees and as part of this, we are thrilled to become a national sponsor of WCT and support women’s career progression in the technology space.”

“Diversity and inclusion are key ingredients to innovation in Canada’s digital economy,” says Joanne Stanley, Executive Director of WCT. “With only 10% of senior management jobs in tech in Canada held by women, we’re excited to work with HPE to advance women’s leadership in the IT space.”

In sponsoring WCT, HPE is joining forces with companies in the digital economy across Canada who are working to ensure women achieve their highest career potential. As part of this partnership, HPE employees will gain access to WCT’s wide range of professional development, networking and mentorship programs in regional chapters across Canada.
