Women in Communications and Technology COVID-19 Response

Over the past weeks, Women in Communications and Technology has been monitoring the growing concerns around COVID-19 and the impacts of the virus. As a result, WCT has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Leadership Excellence Awards Gala, which was scheduled to be held on May 7, 2020 in Ottawa.

Above all, WCT values the health and safety of our community. We feel that postponing the Leadership Excellence Awards Gala is the best course of action for the safety of all involved. We are exploring other options of rescheduling at a later date and honouring our award winners.

At this time, all of our chapter events are being re-evaluated. Where possible, we will support other options to continue to provide alternative programming such as online panels and events.

If you have purchased tickets or tables for the Leadership Excellence Awards gala, please reach out to awards [at] wct-fct.com.

We want to thank you for your continued support of WCT. Please stay tuned to our website, social media and your email where we will provide any updates that we can share moving forward over the coming weeks.

Land Acknowledgement

Women in Communications and Technology acknowledges that our offices and work, located in Ottawa, are on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial.

We also recognize that the work of our Regional Chapters is carried out on traditional territory of First Nation, Inuit and Métis peoples from coast to coast. We are thankful that we are able to work and collaborate on these lands.
