Please join us for a deeper dive into the world of impact investing.

Sustainable or responsible investing incorporates financial factors with sustainable values using a set of principles to guide the investment strategy. These principles measure impact on corporate governance (people), environmental (planet) and social values (impact).

Guest speakers:

Melanie Adams

Melanie Adams oversees the Corporate Governance & Responsible Investment (CGRI) team at RBC Global Asset Management (GAM). The CGRI team supports RBC GAM’s investment teams in integrating environmental, social and governance factors into the investment process, engages in active stewardship and provides meaningful client reporting on responsible investment.

Previously, Melanie held various roles at RBC GAM including Director, GAM Strategy & Fund Governance and Senior Manager, Fund Governance & Responsible Investment. Prior to working at RBC GAM, Melanie was Senior Counsel, Litigation for another large financial institution, and Enforcement Counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission (where she participated in a secondment to the Crown Law Office). Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology and Economics from the University of Waterloo and a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Toronto.

 

Natalya Zeman

Natalya Zeman is an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Specialist at Capital Group. Natalya began her career at Capital in the Associate Program, Capital Group’s global leadership development program during which she worked with all four investment groups, across six Capital offices globally. Before joining Capital, Natalya set up and ran a performing arts company in Hong Kong. Natalya studied Music at the University of Oxford, and the Royal College of Music, London, and is based in New York.

 

Lori Payne, BBA, CPA, CMA

Lori recently left corporate life to focus her time and skills in the community. With an accounting designation and specialties in program management, talent management, organizational development, and change management, Lori has had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles in Finance, Strategy Development, Service Excellence, Human Resources and Lean Management at large global organizations including GE and Sun Life Financial. Alongside her work, she has been an active community volunteer serving on several Not-For-Profit Boards and Committees. Lori is currently Vice-Chair of the KWCF Board, Chair of the Audit Committee and a founding member of their Social Finance Committee.

 

Amanda Knapp

Is a Navigator at Knapp Wealth Management guiding clients in their various financial life stages for 29 years. She is a passionate Financial Planner, Wealth Advisor, Portfolio Manager & Vice President at RBC working as a trusted advisor to Individuals, Businesses, Families and Not for Profits. Founder of WOWtheworld, Advocate for Women in Wealth, Financial Literacy Speaker, Socially Responsible Investor and Fluent Listener of people’s stories and goals. She has achieved the highest education accreditations in the industry to serve her clients.
